Abstract:
A multipoint monitoring method for monitoring a plurality of monitoring points by connecting them with a monitoring station through an optical transmission line in which an optical abnormality detection signal of the wavelength component specific to a monitoring point where an abnormality is detected is multiplexed with an optical signal supplied from the optical transmission line before being output on to the optical transmission line. According to such a multipoint monitoring method, a monitoring point where an abnormality is occurring can be specified based on presence of each wavelength component by demultiplexing the optical signal supplied from the optical transmission line into respective wavelength components at the monitoring station.
