Abstract:
Disclosed is a negative electrode which comprises an aluminum alloy that has a magnesium content of 0.0001-8% by weight (inclusive) and satisfies at least one of the conditions (A) and (B) described below, said alloy containing elements other than aluminum, magnesium, silicon and iron respectively in an amount of 0.005% by weight or less.
(A) The iron content is 0.0001-0.03% by weight (inclusive).
(B) The silicon content is 0.0001-0.02% by weight (inclusive).
