Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an alloy particle for a negative active material, which is capable of inhibiting, at a significantly high level, oxidation by an electrolyte with respect to the negative active material, and to give oxidation resistance to the alloy particle comprising silicon. The objective is accomplished by a negative electrode material for a secondary battery, which is capable of occluding/releasing lithium and comprises an alloy particle comprising a silicon phase, a metal phase, and bismuth, wherein the size of the crystallite of the silicon phase is at most 10 ㎚, the metal phase comprises one or more kinds of metals that are alloyed with silicon but are not alloyed with lithium, and at least a primary particle by the silicon and the metal is formed.
