Abstract:
A neuronal differentiation promoting agent for neural stem cells comprising, as an active ingredient, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of an &ohgr -3 unsaturated fatty acid having 18 to 22 carbon atoms, an &ohgr -6 unsaturated fatty acid and derivatives thereof. The promoting agent can be used for induction of differentiation of neural stem cells and is useful for treatment and/or prevention of a variety of neurological diseases and in the fields of transplantation/regenerative medicine for nerves.
