Provided is a node (transfer device) capable of processing an OAM frame in an output line card. The node constitutes a Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, and is provided with an input unit which receives an Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM) frame having Time to Live (TTL) from the exterior of the node, and an output unit which transmits the OAM frame to the exterior of the node, wherein, when the OAM frame received from the exterior indicates the node as a terminal destination and the received OAM frame is transmitted to the output unit, the input unit sets the TTL to a specific value, transmits the received OAM frame to the output unit and the output unit treats the OAM frame transmitted from the input unit as a terminal.
