The objective of the present invention is to obtain a non-woven fabric for an absorbent article, said fabric making it possible to obtain a soft feel in contact with the skin and making it possible to ensure this soft feel stably. The invention is configured to be provided, in a groove bottom portion (6) of a groove portion (5) provided in the space between adjacent protrusions (4), (4), with a plurality of recesses (7) having a bottom portion (9) that is deeper than the groove bottom portion (6) and being provided non-contiguously relative to a first direction (X), wherein at least a portion of the peripheral surfaces of the recesses (7) is provided with a hole portion (11) that communicates with a second surface (3) side, the hole portion (11) has a peripheral edge portion (12) that is formed without melting a thermoplastic resin fiber, the bottom portion (9) of the recesses (7) has a higher fiber density than the protrusions (4), and at least the second surface (3) side is formed in a planar shape.
