Title:
NOVEL BIPHENYL COMPOUND OR PHARMACEUTICALLY ACCEPTABLE SALT THEREOF, METHOD FOR PREPARING NOVEL BIPHENYL COMPOUND OR PHARMACEUTICALLY ACCEPTABLE SALT THEREOF, AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING DIABETES COMPLICATIONS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/021013
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a novel biphenyl compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a method for preparing the novel biphenyl compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutical composition containing same as an active ingredient for preventing or treating diabetes complications. The novel biphenyl compound, according to the present invention, effectively suppresses generation activity of an advanced glycation end product, which causes diabetes complications and is a criterion for evaluating the effectiveness of a treating agent for diabetes complications, and shows effective treatment of retinal veins on the retina subject to diabetic retinopathy, increased occluding, and decreased angiogenesis growth factors, thereby rendering the novel biphenyl compound invention useful as an active ingredient in a composition for preventing or treating diabetes complications such as diabetic retinopathy.
