Abstract:
Provided are a nuclear transformation method and a device therefor, whereby heat energy and hydrogen can be harvested by using a simple structure. Reaction cells (1, 100) formed of a metallic material such as SUS304 or iron are heated, in the absence of oxygen, to 500oC or higher with heaters (6, 115). Then water is introduced into the reaction cells (1, 100) to generate water vapor. Through a reaction between the water vapor and the inner wall of the reaction cells (1, 100), nuclear transformation is induced and hydrogen and heat energy are harvested. By providing a reagent containing at least an alkali metal and oxygen (NaOH, K2TiO3, etc.) in the reaction cells (1, 100), the nuclear reaction occurs without using water. To activate the nuclear reaction, water vapor may be supplied into the reaction cells (1, 100) containing the reagent and a fin (f) (124) may be placed, as a metallic element source, in the reaction cells (1, 100) to further enlarge the metallic surface.
