Abstract:
An optical scanning device (12) is provided with a polygon mirror (43) for rotating and thereby deflecting light emitted from a light source (31) to a predetermined scanning direction, an optical element (34) for forming an image from light deflected by the polygon mirror (43), a drive source (44) for rotating the polygon mirror (43), a control board (45) for controlling the driving of the drive source (44), and an optical housing (30) for accommodating the polygon mirror (43), the optical element (34), the drive source (44), and the control board (45). The optical housing (30) has reinforcing ribs (50) erected so as to be oriented toward the downstream side in the propagation direction of light deflected by the polygon mirror (43) from both ends of the optical element (34) in the scanning direction.
