Provided is an optical sensor circuit that detects the position coordinates of a pointer (P) within a coordinate detection area (2), through which light from light sources (3) passes, on the basis of the change in the amount of light received when the pointer (P) is placed within the coordinate detection area (2). A first optical sensor circuit, comprising an optical sensor element (41) that receives a large amount of light due to the positional relationship with the light sources (3), is provided with a first wiring to which a refresh signal (shield_A) that initializes a threshold value characteristic is supplied, said threshold value characteristic determining the light reception sensitivity of the optical sensor element (41). Meanwhile, a second optical sensor circuit, comprising an optical sensor element (42) that receives only a small amount of light, is provided with a second wiring to which a refresh signal (shield_B) that initializes the threshold value characteristic of the optical sensor element (42) is supplied, independent of the refresh signal (shield_A).
