Abstract:
In the present invention, artifacts are removed from a tomographic image. A method according to one embodiment is for processing a tomographic image acquired by a tomographic imaging method that includes the steps of: dividing light emitted from a light source into a first light beam and a second light beam; projecting the first light beam onto the inner wall of a biological tubular element via an optical component, and receiving, with the optical component, reflected light from the biological tubular element; obtaining reference light by adjusting the optical distance of the second light beam; obtaining interference light between the reflected light and the reference light; and obtaining a tomographic image of the biological tubular element on the basis of the interference light. The method includes the steps of: obtaining an electrical signal of the interference light; obtaining an optical intensity distribution for the difference in optical distance between the optical distance of the reflected light and the optical distance of the reference light; and changing the optical distance of the second light beam and thereby enlarging a portion of the image of the biological tubular element, while reducing an artifact that may occur due to the optical component and eliminating the overlap between the portion of the image of the biological tubular element and the artifact.
