Abstract:
Provided is an organic EL device having high reliability, wherein decrease of the luminance due to the generation of a gas such as moisture is suppressed. This organic EL device is provided with: an interlayer insulating film (13) that is formed on a substrate (11); a lower electrode (21) that is formed above the interlayer insulating film (13) so as to correspond to a light emitting region; a light emitting layer (23) that is formed on the lower electrode (21) in the light emitting region; and an upper electrode (24) that is formed on the light emitting layer (23). A gap (14) is formed between the interlayer insulating film (13) and the lower electrode (21).
