A process for the preparation of alcohol (1), characterized by conducting palladium-catalyzed coupling of p-iodochlorobenzene with allyl alcohol in the presence of tetramethylammonium chloride and reducing the obtained product; and a process for the preparation of compound (2), characterized by brominating the alcohol (1) obtained by the above process.
