Abstract:
Disclosed is a mechanism enabling a PDCP sending entity to move a send window after packet loss occurs on an Xn interface. According to an embodiment, a timer is set in the PDCP sending entity; the timer is started upon determining that packet loss may occur; and the send window is moved when the timer expires no matter whether PDCP PDUs on a lower bound of the send window are confirmed to be successfully sent. According to another embodiment, a DCP receiving entity is used to maintain a receive window and a t-Reordering timer is used to assist the PDCP sending entity in moving the send window, so that even if packet loss occurs on the Xn interface, the send window can be moved to continue sending subsequent PDCP PDUs.
