Abstract:
The present invention provides a physical quantity detection device whereby the effect of sound waves generated by a turbocharger can be reduced to suppress a decrease in precision of detecting a physical quantity including the flow rate of a gas. A physical quantity detection device 100 for detecting the physical quantity of air taken in from an intake passage of an engine to which a turbocharger is mounted. The physical quantity detection device 100 comprises a sub-passage 130 for taking in a portion of air flowing from the upstream side to the downstream side of an intake passage along a first direction D1 parallel to the center axis of the intake passage, and a flow rate detection unit for detecting the flow rate of air taken into the sub-passage 130. The sub-passage 130 has an inlet 114 that is open toward the upstream side in the first direction D1, an outlet 116 that is open toward the downstream side in the first direction D1, and a damping chamber 134 for damping sound waves that are propagated to the inside of the outlet 116 from the turbocharger.
