Abstract:

This invention relates to a sheet pick-up system which classifies cut glass sheets into graded products of a plurality of quality levels and picks up products of a desired grade at a time in the production line of the glass sheets. A discriminating type defect detector (101) detects the size and position of any defect existing on ribbon-shape glass sheets withdrawn from a kiln and conveyed on a line conveyor and sends them as defect data to a control unit (102). The control unit (102) sorts the quality grades of the cut glass sheets on the basis of the fault data. A sheet pick-up machine (110) having a push-up device (112) and a suction conveyor (111) picks up products of a desired grade under the control of the control unit (102).
