Abstract:
A piezoelectric bulk wave device using a thickness-shear mode of vibration for LiTaO3 and having a high electromechanical coupling coefficient (k2) is obtained. The piezoelectric bulk wave device (1): comprises a piezoelectric thin plate (5) comprising LiTaO3, and first and second electrodes (6, 7) provided so as to come in contact with the piezoelectric thin plate (5): uses a thickness-shear vibration mode for the piezoelectric thin plate (5) comprising LiTaO3; and has LiTaO3 Euler angles (φ, θ, ψ) of 0° for φ and 54-107° for θ.
