Abstract:
The disease resistance capability of plants such as vegetables, grasses and flowers and the rearing rate of the plants can be improved by rearing the plants in the co-presence of a glycolipid derived from Pantoea agglomerans or a preparation containing the glycolipid. Thus, disclosed is a method for enhancing the resistance of vegetables, grasses or flowers against diseases and rearing high-quality crops; a novel plant-rearing agent and a novel plant disease resistance inducer which can be used in the method. The method and others enable the cultivation of crops with using agrochemicals in less amounts as possible or the improvement in productivities of crops. Further, even when the amounts of agrichemicals used are reduced, the success rates in the cultivation of crops can be increased and the immunological capacities of plants can also be improved even when useful soil bacteria occur in less amounts. Therefore, new types of crop businesses such as contract cultivation by means of organic cultivation, chemical-free cultivation or hydroponic cultivation can be spurred.
