Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire in which rolling resistance is reduced while improving dry performance, wet performance, and snow performance, and it is possible to achieve both these objectives at a high level. In the present invention, a rubber composition in which 60–90 parts by mass (inclusive) of silica is compounded with 100 parts by mass of diene rubber is used in a cap tread layer 11, said diene rubber comprising 100 mass% in total of 15–30 mass% (inclusive) of natural rubber, 40–70 mass% (inclusive) of terminal-modified styrene-butadiene rubber having a vinyl content of 35–45 mass% (inclusive), and 15–30 mass (inclusive) of modified butadiene rubber obtained by modifying the active end of a conjugated diene polymer with at least a hydrocarbyloxysilane compound. The hardness Hu of an under tread layer 12 and the hardness Hc of the cap tread layer 11 are such that Hu > Hu, the hardness Hc being 63–67 (inclusive), and the difference ΔH between the hardness Hu and the hardness Hc is 10 or greater.
