Abstract:
A power supply device which does not supply the commercial frequency current to an external device on a power-receiving side but can supply information to the external device as a power line communication signal superimposed on the commercial frequency voltage and which controls the supply of the commercial frequency current to the external device to thereby supply power as well as the power communication signal to a specific external device. The power supply device is provided with: at least a power-receiving unit which is supplied with power from a power line; a power line communication unit which superimposes the power line communication signal to the voltage of the power supplied to the power receiving unit and transmits the power line communication signal to the external device; and a power supply restriction unit which is installed between the power-receiving unit and the external device, allowing the power line communication signal to pass through and restricting the power supply to the external device.
