Abstract:
The invention aims at providing drugs effective in the prevention and/or treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly, intractable or immune neurodegenerative diseases. The invention provides preventive or therapeutic agents for neurodegenerative diseases caused by increased cerebrospinal fluid 3-NT (3-nitrotyrosin) which contain as the active ingredient pyrazolone derivatives represented by the general formula (I) or physiologically acceptable salts thereof, or hydrates or solvates of both: (I) wherein R1 is hydrogen, aryl, or the like; R2 is hydrogen, aryloxy, or the like; and R3 is phenyl bearing one to three substituents.
