Abstract:
A process of large-scale ledeburite steels comprises casting the molten ledeburite steels to form a flat ingot with small section; rolling the ingot to a plate; machining the plate to small pieces with identical sizes according to the demand; laminating the pieces to the desired height; and welding them to large-scale ledeburite steel bars or blocks in a welding furnace. Having employed casting, forging and welding together, the process is much simpler than that of powder metallurgy, and the result large-scale ledeburite steels have low asymmetry carbides, with small particles, less oxygen content than that of metallurgical steels, better performance than those large-scale ledeburite steels produced by casting and forging, therefore are very suitable for current demands of development.
