Abstract:
A process for producing cumene which comprises subjecting cumyl alcohol to hydrogenolysis or dehydration and then to hydrogenation, characterized in that a palladium catalyst is used as a catalyst for the hydrogenolysis or hydrogenation and that hydrogen having a carbon monoxide concentration of 0.1 to 10 vol.% is used.
