Abstract:
Provided are a production method for a fluoro-olefin and a production method for fluoro-ethane having a high selectivity for a target fluoro-ethane product. The production method of the present disclosure includes a step for obtaining a product containing the fluoro-ethane from fluoroethylene through a reaction in the presence of a catalyst. A reactor in which the reaction occurs is filled with a catalyst having an elemental metal concentration of C1 mass% and a catalyst having an elemental metal concentration of C2 mass% with respect to the entire catalyst, said catalysts respectively forming an upstream portion and a downstream portion. Furthermore, C1 is less than C2. The reaction is conducted by bringing hydrogen gas and fluoro-ethylene, which is represented by formula (3), into contact in the order of the upstream portion and the downstream portion.
