Title:
A RAISABLE AND LOWERABLE WORKING TABLE OR THE LIKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1982/001342
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A working table with two vertical lift legs (24), which are guided on each its guide leg (10), which in turn are attached to a lower frame portion (6) and a symmetrical link system (20, 22) acting between the lower frame portion and the lift legs, a garage jack (12, 14) acting on the symmetry point of said link system. At the upper portion of the device a manoeuvring device for the lift motor is located. The guide legs are carried at each its end by a horizontal beam, on which the lift motor is centrally located and which in turn is carried by transversely extending support legs.

Description:
A raisable and lowerable working table or the like.

The present invention relates to a raisable and lowerable working device, e.g. a working table.

Most existing working tables of this kind are characterized by a complicated and thereby sensible and expensive design. The purpose of the invention is to provide a constructively simple, cheap and reliable working table, the raising device of which is furthermore little space requiring.

This purpose has been attained in that the device according to the invention is characterized by two vertical raising legs, which are guided each on its guide leg, which in turn are attached to a lower frame portion, and by a symmetrical link system acting between the lower frame portion and the lifting legs, a lifting motor, e.g. a garage jack, acting in the point of symmetry of said link system.

The invention will now be described more closely with reference to the attached drawing, that illustrates a raisable and lowerable working table in a perspective view.

The table includes a frame with a lower portion generally referenced 2 and an upper portion generally referenced 4. The lower portion includes a lower horizontal support beam 6, horizontal leg beams 8 attached to the ends of said support beam, and vertical guide beams 10 which are likewise attached nearby the ends of the beam 6. The beam 6 carries a lifting motor 12, e.g. a conventional hydraulic garage jack, with lifting piston

14 and lifting manoeuvring arm 16. The piston 14 is located in the middle between the guide beams 10 and acts on a symmetrical link system. The link system includes two essentially upright links 18, which at their lower ends are pivotally carried by the beam 6. At their upper ends the links 18 are pivotally connected with one end to each one of two crossed links 20. The piston 14 acts on a pivot 22 in the crossing point of the link 20. At their outer ends the links 20 carry the upper frame portion 4'. The frame portion 4 includes two vertical telescopically on the guide rods shiftable legs 24, which have pivot points 26 for the upper ends of the links 20. The legs 24 are rigidly connected by means of

a transverse beam 26 and carry a table disk 28. The table disk 28 is, however, only illustrated as an example and pan be replaced by arbitrary devices of other kinds, which require vertical adjustability. Sinking of the legs 24 is carried through by means of a handle 30 connected via a cable 32 to a valve, not shown, of the jack 12.

The described link system is exactly symmetrically located with respect to the jack 12 and the legs 10, 24. The link system is so dimensioned that the legs 24 are supported at the lower fixing points 34 of the guide legs 10 when the piston 14 extends completely into its cylinder. The maximally out of the cylinder extended position 14 is corresponded, in the same way, by highest possible level of the table 28.

The transverse beams 8 at each end carry wheels 36. At 38 supports for shield plates, not shown, for the link system and the lifting motor are illustrated.

By means of the described symmetrical link arrangement acting on only two legs jamming has been completely eliminated, at the same time as a simple, reliable and little space requiring lifting arrangement has been provided.

A continuous adjustability of the height of the frame is possible and with the upper handle 30 a very accurate and flexible exac adjustment can be obtained after coarse raising has been obtained by means of the arm 16-
