Abstract:
A random access method and apparatus. The principle of the method is as follows: once a terminal device receives a first wake-up signal, N random access channel occasions are determined according to a correspondence between the first wake-up signal and the N random access channel occasions; and the terminal device determines a first random access channel occasion among the N random access channel occasions, and sends a random access preamble in the first random access channel occasion. A network device sends a beam of the first wake-up signal as a receiving beam, and receive the random access preamble sent by the terminal device. The wake-up signal has the advantages of a narrow beam, a flexible beam, high beam gain, and so on. Therefore, when the network device uses the beam of the first wake-up signal to receive the foregoing random access preamble, the advantages of high flexibility, high beam gain and so on are also present.
