Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to adjust the degree of flexural deformation of a rear support for an ankle foot orthosis, and to make a wearer better able to walk. [Solution] A rear support 4 for an ankle foot orthosis 1, provided between the rear part of the heel of a footrest part 2 on which a foot is placed and a lower thigh mounting part 3 mounted to a lower thigh portion below the knee. In the rear support 4, a plurality of FRP sheets 5a-5c are layered, and upper end parts and lower end parts of the FRP sheets are joined by heat fusing. An upper end part 4A is a portion bonded to the lower thigh mounting part 3, and a lower end part 4B is a portion bonded to the footrest part 2. An intermediate portion between the upper end part 4A and the lower end part 4B has gaps S1, S2 between the FRP sheets 5a-5c.
