Abstract:
Reclosable package (30) for containing a plurality of discrete products, and particularly reclosable package housings (32) for containing a plurality of discrete products wherein said package comprises an adhesive-based reclosable fastener. In one embodiment the package may be a reclosable package (30) having a package housing (32) having first and second opposing edges (80, 81) and a front panel (31) having a first distal end (63) and a cover panel flap (36) having a second distal end (61), the cover panel flap (36) overlays a portion of the front panel (31), the cover panel flap (36) being movable between an open position and closed position to selectively cover and uncover the interior contents cavity; the front panel (31) being secured to a portion of the cover panel flap (36) by a first adhesive layer (56) which extends longitudinally from the first and second opposing edges (80, 81) where the cover panel flap (36) overlays the front panel (31), the second distal end (61) forming a tab portion (48) that extends distal to the first adhesive layer (56). The cover panel flap (36) further having second scores (46) which extend longitudinally from the first and second opposing edges (80, 81) and beyond first and second lateral edges of the first adhesive layer (56). The cover panel flap (36) further having a securement element (40) which extends longitudinally from the first and second opposing edges (80, 81) and beyond first and second lateral edges of the second scores (46), and the securement element (40) secured to cover flap (31) by a second adhesive layer (51) having a peel force less than a peel force of the first adhesive layer (56).
