A router (12) comprises an outer transmitter&sol receiver (100) for transmitting&sol receiving a packet to&sol from WAN, an inner transmitter−receiver (102) for transmitting&sol receiving a packet to&sol from LAN, outer−to−inner address conversion unit (104) for converting at least one of the destination address, the destination port number, the transmission origin address, and the transmission origin port number of the packet received by the outer transmitter&sol receiver (100) and feeding it to the inner transmitter&sol receiver (102), and an inner−to−outer address conversion unit (106) for converting at least one of the destination address, the destination port number, the transmission origin address, and the transmission origin port number of the packet received by the inner transmitter&sol receiver (102) and feeding it to the outer transmitter&sol receiver (100).
