Abstract:
Provided is a remotely-operated actuator that has a compact overall structure and makes it possible to accurately and precisely change the orientation, via remote operation, of a tool provided on the tip of a long, thin pipe section. The orientation of the tool can be changed even if the pipe section, i.e. a spindle guide section, is in a bent state. A tip member is attached to the tip of the spindle guide section (3) in a manner such that the orientation of said tip member can be changed, and a tool is rotatably provided on the tip member. The inside of the spindle guide section (3) is provided with: a rotating shaft (22) that transmits rotation from a tool-rotation drive source (41) to the spindle; and an orientation-manipulation member (31) that is moved back and forth by an orientation-change drive source (42) to change the orientation of the tip member. The remotely-operated actuator is provided with: a slowdown mechanism (43) that slows the rotation of the orientation-change drive source (42); a movement-conversion mechanism (44A) that coverts the slowed output from rotational movement to linear movement; and an output member (51) that moves the orientation-manipulation member (31) back and forth using the output from the movement-conversion mechanism (44A).
