Abstract:
A residual fingerprint comparison device that compares the feature points of an inputted fingerprint image and of a registered fingerprint image. The residual fingerprint comparison device acquires paired feature points that are combinations of the feature points of a first fingerprint image and of a second fingerprint image, acquires, from the first fingerprint image, first fingerprint partial images that are of prescribed areas that are based on the feature points that constitute the paired feature points, acquires, from the second fingerprint image, second fingerprint partial images that are of prescribed areas that are based on the feature points that constitute the paired feature points, and evaluates the difference in the sizes of the first fingerprint partial images and the second fingerprint partial images. The residual fingerprint comparison device can thereby more accurately determine whether the feature points of an inputted fingerprint image and a recorded fingerprint image coincide.
