Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of communications. Provided are a resource allocation method and device, which are used for automatically allocating suitable available resources to data of an application, so as to improve the performance of the application. The method comprises: receiving, through an acquisition interface, physical storage resource allocation request information sent by an application; determining whether the physical storage resource allocation request information contains information of a medium type of a physical storage resource applied for; if it is determined that the physical storage resource allocation request information does not contain the information of the medium type of the physical storage resource applied for, searching in a spatial characteristic table acquired in advance a storage medium type matching with the medium information; allocating an available virtual resource to the application according to the size information of the physical storage resource applied for; and allocating, to the application, an available physical storage resource corresponding to the available virtual resource according to the physical storage resource allocation request information and the medium type of the physical storage resource applied for.
