Abstract:
The present invention, while maintaining the effect of preventing impurities from entering an internal space (15) where a rolling element (4) is placed, prevents interference between a seal ring (14b) and a head (41) of a stud (13) when the stud (13) is mounted or replaced, and improves the ease of assembling a roller bearing unit (1a) for supporting a wheel having a seal ring. A dam part (46) is provided by using a seal member (18a) to cover a portion of a circular ring part (23a) of a core (17a) constituting the seal ring (14b), the portion protruding farther radially outward than an outer peripheral surface at the axially outer end of an outer ring (2a). More specifically, the outside diameter D(23a) of a portion of the circular ring part (23a) that is positioned below a vehicle when the circular ring part is assembled on the vehicle is made to be equal to or less than the outside diameter D(2a) of the axially outer end surface of the outer ring (2a), and this portion is covered by the seal member (18a), whereby a cutout part (47) is formed in this portion.
