Abstract:
A scintillator material (10), which is excited by radiation and emits visible light, comprises: a substrate (11) made of quartz glass and having a first recessed portion (12a) formed in a first surface thereof and a second recessed portion (12b) formed in a second surface thereof opposite to the first surface; and nanocomposite layers (13a, 13b) within the first recessed portion (12a) and within the second recessed portion (12b), the nanocomposite layers (13a, 13b) having a cristobalite structure with an iodide phosphor incorporated therein.
