Abstract:

A semiconductor computing unit which implements, at high speed and with high accuracy, a maximum or minimum value retrieval computing used in a vector quantizing processor constituted by a binary/multi-value/analog unification processing circuit, and which additionally has a function for retrieving a vector having a distance in a required sequence. A multiplex loop circuit which has a group of amplification circuits comprising a first electrode and a plurality of sets of first amplifiers having floating gates with each of which one second electrode is capacity-coupled at a specified ratio, a logical operation circuit for outputting a logical value, 0 or 1, on receiving an output signal from the group of amplification circuits and a second amplification circuit for receiving an output signal from the logical operation circuit and distributing its output to all the second electrodes in the group of amplification circuits, wherein the second amplification circuit has a regulating circuit for regulating an output current drive capability and a control circuit for controlling the regulation under a specified rule, the regulation in the control circuit being performed in accordance with a change in an output from the logical operation circuit.
