Abstract:
Disclosed is a server provided with a processing device, a network adapter connected to the processing device, and a path switching unit. The processing device is provided with a virtual machine, and a virtual switch which relays to and from an external unit packets sent and received by the virtual machine. The network adapter has a transmission function for sending and receiving packets to and from a virtual machine without going through the virtual switch. The path switching unit dynamically switches the flow of packets sent and received by the virtual machine to a first path pattern flow or to a second path pattern flow; the path switching unit lets the aforementioned transmission function of the network adapter process the first path pattern flow, and lets the virtual switch process the second path pattern flow.
