Title:
SHIP WITH REDUCED WAVE-MAKING RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/055117
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a ship with reduced wave-making resistance, comprising: a floating hull; a plurality of flat submerged buoyancy bodies that are submerged in water to support the floating hull to rise above the water surface and are arranged parallel to each other along the lengthwise direction of the floating hull; and a connecting portion for connecting the floating hull and the submerged buoyancy bodies. Accordingly, the floating hull is completely lifted above the water surface by the buoyant force of the submerged buoyancy bodies and thus is not subject to any wave-making resistance. In addition, the unique shape of the submerged buoyancy bodies prevents waves and the like from being generated, and thus wave-making resistance can be effectively reduced. Therefore, thrust loss due to wave-making resistance can be minimized, allowing efficient sailing, and pitching and the like due to wave-making resistance can be minimized, allowing stable sailing. In addition, the bottom surface of the floating hull does not need to be designed hydrodynamically and thus can be manufactured efficiently in terms of design and cost.
