Abstract:
A shock absorber (AL) comprises a hard-side damping element (20) that imparts resistance to a liquid flow heading from an elongation-side chamber (La) to a pressure-side chamber (Lb), an electromagnetic valve (VL) capable of changing the opening area of an elongation-side bypass channel (3a) that bypasses the hard-side damping element (20) to allow communication between the elongation-side chamber (La) and the pressure-side chamber (Lb), and a soft-side damping element (50) provided to the elongation-side bypass channel (3a) in series with the electromagnetic valve (VL). The hard-side damping element (20) is configured having an orifice (20b) and a leaf valve (20a) provided in parallel with the orifice (20b), and the soft-side damping element (50) is configured having an orifice (50b) that is larger in opening area than the orifice (20b).
