Title:
SOLAR CONCENTRATING SYSTEM AND HELIOSTAT LAYOUT METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/018054
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to improve the light collection efficiency of a solar concentrating system by elaborating the layout of heliostats. A solar concentrating system is provided including a light collection tower (4) and a plurality of heliostats (1) disposed around the light collection tower (4). The heliostats (1) include at least first heliostats (a1, a2) and second heliostats (b1, b2) disposed relatively outside the first heliostats (a1, a2) in a viewing direction in which the first heliostats (a1, a2) are viewed from the upper focus of the light collection tower (4) and being most adjacent to the first heliostats (a1, a2). The first heliostats (a1, a2) and the second heliostats (b1, b2) contact each other at the edges in the lateral direction when viewed along the viewing direction. In addition, when the first heliostats (a1, a2) and the second heliostats (b1, b2) are viewed from directly above, the first heliostats (a1, a2) and the second heliostats (b1, b2) are disposed spaced apart by a shadow length (SL) that is the minimum space to be ensured to avoid shadowing each other.
