Abstract:
This disclosure relates to a sound processing device and method which enable a position at which a sound image is localized to be easily changed.
A coefficient calculation unit 23 increases or decreases a coefficient k_Ls, a coefficient k_L, a coefficient k_C, a coefficient k_R, and a coefficient k_Rs that are set for respective channels by a control unit 21 in response to sound signals Ls, L, C, R, Rs from a delay unit 22. A division unit divides a sound signal C from the coefficient calculation unit to obtain two-channel output, outputs a signal obtained by multiplying the divided sound signal C by delay_α to a synthesis unit of an L channel, and outputs a signal obtained by multiplying the divided sound signal C by delay_β to a synthesis unit of an R channel. This disclosure is applicable, for example, to a downmixing device for downmixing sound signals of two or more channels to two channels.
