Abstract:
The present invention provides a stainless steel sheet for brake disc rotors, the stainless steel sheet having a composition that contains, on a mass basis, not less than 0.001% but less than 0.080% of C, 0.0010-0.5000% of N, 0.01-5.00% of Si, 0.010-12.000% of Mn, 0.001-0.100% of P, 0.0001-1.0000% of S, 10.0-35.0% of Cr and 0.010-5.000% of Ni, and one or both of 0.0001-1.0000% of Nb and 0.0001-1.0000% of Ti, with the balance being made up of Fe and impurities, while having an A value represented by formula (1) of 65 to 150. With respect to this stainless steel sheet for brake disc rotors, the ratio of ferrite phase is 1.0-50.0%; the ratio of martensite phase is 50.0- 99.0%; and the Vickers hardness is 300 to 400 HV.
