Abstract:
Disclosed is a starting device (1) that drives a compressor-side rotary shaft (11) of a two-shaft gas turbine engine (GT) at the time of startup of the gas turbine engine, the starting device comprising: a starter motor (15) serving as a drive source of the compressor-side rotary shaft (11); a speed-increaser (17) that increases the speed of rotation of the starter motor (15); and a clutch mechanism (21) that disengageably couples the starter motor (15) and the compressor-side rotary shaft (11), the clutch mechanism (21) being interposed between the compressor-side rotary shaft (11) and the speed-increaser (17).
