Abstract:
A stereo image encoding device (100) is provided with: a motion vector detection unit (102) which calculates parallax information (102g) relating to the parallax between two video signals (101iX, 101iY) captured at two positions; a quantization parameter determination unit (103) which determines a quantization parameter (104p) on the basis of the calculated parallax information such that the greater the aforementioned parallax of a portion of the 3D video, the higher the encoding amount of that portion; and an image encoding unit (104) which generates a 3D image signal encoding stream (100o) encoded using the determined quantization parameter in quantization.
