Abstract:

A storage battery management apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention manages battery units in a storage battery system including a plurality of the battery units each having a plurality of battery cells, and a power adjustment device connected with the plurality of battery units via respective contactors and connected with a main circuit. When management of the battery units is to be conducted, a minimum-value discrimination unit discriminates, among battery units in which the difference between the maximum cell voltage and the minimum cell voltage of the battery units is not larger than a predetermined value, the minimum value of the minimum cell voltage, and a control unit sets the minimum value of the minimum cell voltage as a cell-balancing target voltage and controls cell-balancing process of the battery units managed by the device. Thus, even when there is a battery cell (or a cell module) in a battery unit with an abnormality, the storage battery management apparatus can suppress spread of the influence of the abnormality and can enhance availability.
