Abstract:
There is provided a method and apparatus for performing a user defined action on a processor, the method comprising: receiving a command associated with an identifier, wherein the command comprises an activity portion and a domain portion, and the identifier identifies a source of the command; determining an action based on the activity portion, based on searching for the activity portion in an action database; identifying a server based on the domain portion; and causing the action to be performed on the server identified. In this way, a user interfacing with many network addresses can do so in a standardised manner that is fast and efficient to locate specific services of multiple companies directly.
