Substituted piperidinedione derivatives represented by general formula (1) or salts thereof and herbicides containing one or more of these compounds, wherein R?1� represents halogeno, C�1-6? alkyl, etc.; R?2� represents halogeno, C�1-6? alkylsulfonyl, etc.; Het represents a saturated or unsaturated five-membered heterocycle containing one to four N, O, or S atoms, substituted with hydrogen, C�1-6? alkyl, etc., and bonded to the benzene ring at the carbon atom thereof; and R?4�, R?5�, R?6�, R?7� and R?8� each represents hydrogen, C�1-6? alkyl, etc.
