Abstract:
This surgical instrument unit (200) can be fitted to a drive-side shaft (212) of a drive unit (201) that houses a plurality of rigid drive-side elongated elements (216) for manipulating a tip (11) of a surgical instrument (4b) for medical use. The surgical instrument unit (200) has a tip (11), a plurality of flexible elongated elements (14) connected to the tip (11), a cylindrical part (222) that has an opening (222a) of approximately the same diameter of the tip (11) side end of the drive-side shaft (212) and is coaxial with the drive-side shaft (212) when fitted to the drive unit (201), and a plurality of rigid tip-side elongated elements (213) housed within the cylindrical part (222). The rigid tip-side elongated elements (213) have a first end which is connected to a flexible elongated element (14) and a second end which constitutes a tip-side connecting part (232) which can be connected to a drive-side connecting part (234) provided on the tip (11) side of a drive-side elongated element (216).
