Abstract:
This invention makes it possible to connect together resources constituting a computer without compromising the flexibility of an I/O fabric. A switch within said fabric comprises the following: an analysis unit that analyzes the header of a received packet; a determination unit that, from information indicating the origin, destination, and type of a request included in said header, determines an operation to perform on the packet; and an execution unit provided with a means that, in accordance with the operation determined by the determination unit, responds to the request included in the packet, rewrites the packet, and/or forwards the packet.
