Abstract:
A synchronising mechanism for equalising the speed of a clutch or brake of an automatic gearbox, comprising a first and a second plate (2, 3), each with Hirth coupling teeth (4, 5), wherein the plates (2, 3) are mutually axially spaced and the one plate (2, 3) is axially movable towards the other plate (2, 3) to cause the Hirth coupling teeth (4, 5) to engage, wherein at least one plate (2, 3) is connected for conjoint rotation to a synchroniser ring (6, 19), towards which the plate (2, 3) is axially movable against a return force, and which has a stop face (15) that abuts a stop face (16) of the other plate (2, 3) when the plates (2, 3) move towards each other, wherein both plates (2, 3) have a synchroniser ring (6, 19), wherein the synchroniser rings (6, 19) are mounted on the plates (2, 3) and radially offset from each other.
