Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tool edge adjustment mechanism for adjusting the positions of the tool edges of cutting inserts (4) that are detachably mounted on the tool body (2) of a cutting tool. The tool edge adjustment mechanism (1) is provided with first adjustment means (5) for adjusting the positions of the cutting insert tool edges and second adjustment means (6) for adjusting the positions of the cutting insert tool edges. The second adjustment means (6) are able to move the positions of the cutting insert (4) tool edges in substantially the same direction as the direction of adjustment of the positions of the cutting insert (4) tool edges by the first adjustment means (5). The precision of adjustment in the positions of the tool edges differs between the first adjustment means and the second adjustment means.
